- AKI has recently developed the SLAM probe for head stack angle and z-ht measurements.
- It is the first autocollimator to take direct angle and height measurements from air bearing surfaces in a head stack.
- A vision camera is included to measure other parameters, such as slider alignment and to simplify setup.
- The SLAM probe dedicates a laser source and set of optics for up facing and down facing heads.
- Optically, this probe is an extension of the AKI SAZ probes, which dramatically improves HGA to stack correlation.
- The SLAM probe is an order of magnitude better than competing products for speed and gage capability.

Setup Program
Each probe comes with a simple yet powerful sample program which is very useful for setup, troubleshooting, testing and learning.
Custom Program
AKI can also provide a custom program tailored to the customer’s exact needs. This can include interfacing with other hardware and/or motion control.
Integration into your own program.
Developers can choose to write their own program using the AKI Software Libraries. You may choose from either an ActiveX COM object or a .NET dll in order to communicate with the AKI Probe. Integration is extremely simple and source code examples are supplied for any development language. |
