Machine Vision – Optical Inspection
AKI offers many solutions in the area of Machine Vision and/or Optical Inspection:
- We can write a custom Vision Program for your unique application.
- We can provide you with a “Vision Program Creator” software component that will integrate into your own program.
- We can provide you with an OCX or DLL library of easy-to-integrate function calls that allow you to write your own program.
Sample Vision Source Code for any option is available upon request at no charge.
“Vision Program Creator”
This solution is the most popular choice among our customers. “The Vision Program Creator” is an OCX (COM) or DLL (.NET) component that can be integrated into your own program. With less than 20 lines of your own code, you can:
- Activate a screen (see Figure 1 below) that will allow you to write a step-by-step custom Vision Program. This can be as simple or complex as you like.
- Acquire an image and “run” the Vision Program you created on this image.
- Extract any or all of the results of the Vision Program.
With this solution, you can create extremely powerful Vision Programs without ever having to write complex vision code. With our one-of-a-kind software you are able to simply insert this component into your program, write the code to activate it following the step-by-step instructions, run and extract the data, and then finish your custom program any way you desire.

Examples of some of the screens are shown below. Each tool has its own screen with all the setup parameters required (not shown). All of the code for these complex functions is already written for you. Your software developer only needs to write the code necessary to activate the screen, and then call the programs the user wrote.
All the user needs to do is simply point-and-click to create a Vision Program. Once the program is created it is ready to be run.
